Weavers Community Forum started to provide emergency response to the COVID-19 Pandemic since April 2020. We distribute emergency food parcels to around 55 families per week (throughout the year) across Tower Hamlets. And anyone that needs food and essential household items can come to our Centre on Thursdays to collect. Our staff and volunteers also deliver food parcels to families and individuals who cannot come out due to various reasons. We are also providing support over the phone for the vulnerable and the elderly.
The products available in food banks consist of basic household items that people need to live on, most of the supplies are bought through funding provided by our donors.
Our Foodbank relies on regular funds to ensure we have the available supplies to help people in need throughout the year. When stocks are low it can be a struggle to provide the critical items needed by people who walk through our doors.
We have made it easy for anyone to donate critical items on a regular basis – weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. It is quick and simple to make your donation. Many generous people have become regular volunteers and are helping their local foodbank hub make the weekly food parcels needed to feed the community. We think they are amazing and need more. Contact us to get involved or volunteer.
Weavers Community Forum Foodbank relies on regular donations to continue helping the vulnerable people in need. By making your donation through our Foodbank Project you are helping a Community foodbank hub continue its services and feed the community.
