Weavers Community Fun Day 2025, A Celebration of Community Spirit
The Weavers Community Fun Day 2025 took place on Saturday, 23rd August 2025, at the Big Pitch, Shacklewell Street, Bethnal Green and proved to be a tremendous success. Around 500 residents from Tower Hamlets joined together for a day filled with fun, laughter, and celebration.
The event featured a wide range of activities for all ages, including a BBQ, martial arts showcase, bouncy castle, tug of war, face and henna painting, competitions for young people, community and business stalls, food, and sporting challenges. Many young residents proudly walked away with trophies and medals for their achievements.
Muzammel Hussen, Chair of Weavers Community Forum, expressed his delight at the turnout:
“It was inspiring to see so many local families come together to enjoy the day. Events like this remind us of the importance of building stronger bonds, celebrating our diversity, and creating positive spaces where our community can thrive.”
Yousuf Khan, Managing Director, extended gratitude to supporters:
“We are deeply thankful to our funders, sponsors, and stallholders for making this event possible. Their support allows us to connect families and young people in a positive environment that encourages unity, belonging, and collective action for the betterment of our community.”
This year’s Fun Day was made possible, thanks to the dedication of our staff, youth workers, management committee members, and local young volunteers. Their hard work reflects the Forum’s commitment to fostering togetherness and celebrating the rich diversity of Tower Hamlets. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents highlights the importance of continuing this annual tradition.
The event received generous support from Tower Hamlets Council, the UK Government, and The National Lottery Community Fund. Attendees included local residents, community leaders, the youth activists, local businesses, and representatives from other organisations.
In closing, Weavers Community Forum extends heartfelt thanks to Tower Hamlets Parks and Events Team, sponsors, stallholders, volunteers, and all well-wishers for their invaluable contributions. This success is a true reflection of community spirit in action.
